FAQs
What is henna?
Henna is a natural plant-based dye that’s been used for thousands of years across South Asian, African, and Arab cultures—for celebrations, protection, beauty, and ritual.
The paste is made from dried henna leaves and applied as a temporary body art. It stains the skin a deep reddish-brown and usually fades in 1–2 weeks.
My culture doesn’t use henna, can I still get it?
Wearing henna isn’t cultural appropriation when it’s done with respect, especially when you’re supporting an artist who knows its roots. I love sharing this tradition and making space for people to appreciate it the right way 🤎
If you’ve got questions or want to learn more before booking, I’m always down to chat!
How long does henna last?
Usually between 1 to 2 weeks, depending on where it's placed and how you care for it. Hands and arms stain the best. Feet? Bomb. Neck? Cute but fades fast.
How can I make my henna last longer?
Keep it on for 6–8 hours minimum, avoid water for the first day, and apply lemon-sugar or oil (like coconut or olive) to seal the deal. No scrubbing. No exfoliating. No betrayal. 👀
What kind of henna do you use?
I use natural hand-made henna like the brown henna cones and another henna type called jagua which has a navy blue color. Ingredients include henna, essential oils, sugar, and lemon juice.
I have sensitive skin / a skin condition. Can I still get henna?
Maybe — let’s talk first! If you’ve had reactions before or have eczema/psoriasis, just let me know when booking so we can see what’s safest for you. I got you 💛
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit holds your spot. The rest is due the day of your appointment. It helps both of us stay locked in 🔒
What happens if I’m running late or need to cancel?
Things happen! Just give me a heads up at least 24 hours before. If you no-show or ghost, you’ll lose your deposit and might not be able to rebook. Respect goes both ways 🫶
Can I bring a friend?
Yes! If they’re also getting henna, let me know ahead of time so I can prep.
How do I book?
You can book under appointments page. If you have ideas for a custom service I don’t have listed then hit me up in the DMs or email. I’ll follow up with the time, details, and deposit info.
